Overview
Lutron has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant out of our Corporate Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA. In this role, you will support our revenue accounting function including accounting requirements under US GAAP. This position is to support the growth and transformation of our finance function. As we actively evolve our practices, you will have the unique opportunity to develop a mastery of new technologies while also using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to successfully apply US GAAP principles. A successful Senior Accountant will ensure we achieve compliance with the standards, maintain accurate accounting records and support business leadership.
You will gain experience working on one or more Lutron entities or corporate functional areas performing the daily and periodic accounting activities including: month-end close, reporting and analysis, and external audit support. As you gain experience, you will be asked to provide in-depth analyses, to work on impactful projects, and to identify areas for improvement. This position offers excellent growth potential with opportunities to work cross-functionally with business leaders to support and enhance Lutron’s operations and reputation.
Responsibilities
- Apply organizational skills and attention to detail while performing daily and monthly accounting tasks such as posting journal entries, analyzing transactions, and reconciling accounts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and reporting standards, identify exceptions, and raise issues.
- Prepare supporting workpapers and analysis as required for the annual, external financial audit.
- Analyze and review financial results with accounting and business leadership.
- Assist in the annual financial close and various compliance activities.
- Establish professional relationships with colleagues across multiple departments.
- Take initiative to problem solve and affect change when needed.
- Have opportunities to travel to Lutron manufacturing facilities, on occasion, for activities like training, physical inventories, and immersion in daily operations to enhance professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related business degree required with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all degrees earned.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools – Excel.
- Professional experience in public accounting preferred.
