A Workforce Planning Senior Analyst is responsible for analyzing the current and future workforce needs of an organization, developing and implementing strategies to optimize the use of human resources, and monitoring and evaluating the outcomes. A workforce planning senior analyst is responsible for analyzing the expenses related to the human capital of an organization, creating and maintaining budgets, reports, and forecasts for different business units, projects, or functions, and providing data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders. A workforce planning senior analyst may also conduct forecasting, scenario planning, and gap analysis to identify and address workforce challenges and opportunities. To succeed in this role, they need to have strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a solid understanding of finance and workforce planning principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze workforce data and trends.
- Assist in headcount and budgeting processes, collaborating with HR business partners and finance to gather necessary data, assumptions, headcount needs, and details on business changes and/or updates.
- Work directly with local cost center owners and Total Rewards COE Team to gather details on new positions needs and review structures for cost center allocation.
- Track people costs and report on variances from the plan, providing guidance for corrective action plans.
- Conduct scenario analysis, modeling, and forecasting to evaluate the impact of different workforce strategies and initiatives.
- Provide data analysis and create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide insights on workforce trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Manage the workforce planning models, maintain and review formulas and structure. Identify inconsistencies and/or incomplete information in the plan and work to close gaps.
- Coordinate local timelines with FP&A; represent HR in establishing timelines and help ensure all parties meet required milestones in a timely manner.
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive workforce plans.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and identify and implement best practices, tools, and methodologies for workforce planning and analytics.
- Foster collaboration and build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, in finance, business, human resources, or related; Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5-7+ years of experience in finance, workforce planning, people analytics, or a similar role.
- Collaborative bridge builder with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Highly analytical thinker capable of creative problem-solving and execution.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Self-starter attitude; someone who can tackle an assignment by being resourceful, taking initiative, and managing through ambiguity positively.
- Must have advanced (close to expert level) skill level with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- High level of maturity, including the ability to maintain (and keep confidential) highly sensitive information.
