The primary function of this position is to audit and reconcile the agency P-card transactions within Bank of America (BOA) and the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS). This position will ensure accurate posting of transactions in NCFS in accordance with NCFS, state and federal guidelines. Knowledge of BOA and NCFS systems is necessary to correctly apply accounting policies and procedures. Position is required to balance entries in the NCFS Accounts Payable module, and the clearance of any discrepancies. The position must be able to work independently in addition to working closely with agency staff. The position will back up the other accounts payable staff as necessary by entering travel reimbursements, direct and matching invoices in NCFS. This position is also responsible for researching, analyzing, and solving problems related to the NCFS which requires that the position have a general knowledge of all sections, functions, and business practices within the Controller’s Office and the Office of State Budget Management (OSBM). Other desirable skills include attention to detail, communication, and organization.

Minimum Requirements:
Qualified applicants must possess, and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:
- Proven knowledge of and experience with general and/or accounting principles.
- Demonstrated experience reading, interpreting, and understanding state and federal laws pertaining to financial records.
- Familiarity with the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) and/or other financial systems.
- Thorough knowledge of the Procurement Card (P-Card) Module.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Associate's degree in Accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in accounting;
OR
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in accounting work;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
