The Leidos team, supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Operational Energy, has an opening for an Operational Energy Analyst. While most work can be performed remotely, some site visits will be required at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
Leidos supports the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Operational Energy) (SAF/IEN) with project management and policy support subject matter experts. Each year about $9B, or 7-8% of the Air Force budget has gone to purchase energy. Approximately 86%, or $7.2B, is operational energy (aviation fuel). The Air Force Operational Energy Program vision is to create an energy-optimized Air Force that maximizes combat capability for the warfighter.
Must possess an Active Top Secret/SCI clearance to be considered.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support Air Force efforts to develop, perform, author, coordinate, and maintain Energy Supportability Analyses for required acquisition programs.
- Provide detailed updates to leadership and interested parties by participating in meetings/forums and coordinating, consolidating, developing, and presenting associated meeting materials (e.g. slides, after action reports, minutes).
- Provide commercial and other service (e.g., U.S. and international) landscape visibility and knowledge management related to aviation fuel network operations (e.g., system-of-systems, command and control).
- Develop, staff, advise, and facilitate senior-level governance and oversight activities on acquisition programs, aviation fuels, modeling and simulation, and fuel logistics war-gaming.
- Serve as subject matter expert for current and potential acquisition programs related to operational energy. Participation in Analysis of Alternatives and development of acquisition documents such as Initial Capabilities Document and Capability Development Document.
- Additional duties as required.
What Sets You Apart:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years' relevant USAF acquisition/fuel logistics/operations analyses experience or a Master's degree and at least 10 years' relevant experience.
- Experience with technical writing and strong communications.
- Active Top Secret clearance, with eligibility for TS/SCI required.
You Might Also Have:
- Experience/knowledge in DoD bulk fuel infrastructure, joint planning and operations analysis, and/or DoD acquisition.

Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00
