Chief Accountant needed in St. Louis, MO for a full-time role. Must reside within 30 miles of the city.
What you'll do:
- Direct the daily operation of the Accounting Division to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, ordinances, and statutes.
- Manage the completion of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), schedule of Federal Awards (SEFA), and coordinate the audits thereof to ensure compliance with applicable ordinances and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles established under the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
- Coordinate Federal and State grant compliance and reporting, including disaster recovery under FEMA.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly and annual fund financial statements for the Retirement Plan's Board of Trustees. Manage the completion of other official statements and documents relating to new or refinanced bond issues and the compliance with bond arbitrage rebates/refunds.
What we're looking for:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience with some experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong skills in accounting software and databases.
Preferred:
- Prefer CPA certification.
- Certified Government Finance Officer a plus.
