Title: Tax Accountant
Reports To: Accounting Tax Manager
Classification: Commonly Full-Time, Regular, Non-Exempt
Normal Hours: Commonly an eight-hour shift scheduled between 8AM and 5PM, Monday-Friday
General Description:
A person in this position helps with the preparation of local, state and federal level returns to be submitted within specified tax deadlines. Assists in the maintenance and preparation of tax-related items to include tax records, tax returns, tax schedules, and related tax reports. This person provides financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of all tax and legal bills, as well as activities of financial support and analytical support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, internal auditing, regular and accurate reporting, and carrying out the function of staff accountant which includes proper filing of business license, permits, property taxes, rental payments, vehicle license filings, auditing AP bills, auditing AR customer accounts. Excellence is demonstrated consistently and process improvements are contributed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Training:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience:
● Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate tax, with a focus on indirect taxes
