Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Data and Digital Literacy: Possesses knowledge of data collection modes, techniques, and tools; data analytics and data visualization tools and techniques; existing and upcoming digital applications and systems; technology innovation trends and industry benchmarks; and data governance. Responsibilities include identifying problems, leveraging data to determine root causes, and applying information to find solutions. Participates in the feedback loop between data intake and insights and works to improve the data-collection process. Articulates the levers that influence data, ensures data quality, and organizes processes information for analysis. Leverages visualization techniques and tools to create dashboards for stakeholders and leadership. Identifies and proposes ways to automate/improve existing processes in the assigned respective area of work with the help of technology (for example, RPA, artificial intelligence, machine learning). Documents business requirements for new technology solutions. Develops, tests, and integrates prototypes to support the creation of technology-enabled solutions. Develops and implements technology changes across multiple processes within the assigned area of work.
Business Acumen: Possesses knowledge of business case development; problem-solving techniques, workflows, and processes of the assigned business area. Responsibilities include providing recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues, developing business cases for projects with projected returns on investment or cost savings, demonstrating deep functional knowledge of assigned business unit/organization, translating business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks that align with the overall business strategy, and recommending new processes and ways of working.
Environmental Protection: Possesses knowledge of environmental policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations involving the environment; macro-level trends on the assigned facility's environmental impacts and assessments. Responsibilities include supporting regulatory visits and preparing audit reports for management review, assisting in integrating environmental considerations into process design, interpreting and evaluating compliance status reports, and assisting in the development of company policies, practices, and procedures relating to environmental risks.
Operational Excellence: Possesses knowledge of organizational processes; root cause analysis techniques; department workflows; Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and One Best Way (OBW) processes. Responsibilities include explaining the operational functions and key functional roles of the assigned department or unit, clarifying the role of each department and its relevance to the enterprise strategy, and identifying the primary operational functions of the organization.
Asset Protection & Security: Possesses knowledge of asset protection policies, practices, and guidelines; environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations. Responsibilities include conducting investigations, recognizing and investigating security breaches, thefts, shortages, and vandalism, and assisting in the implementation of access control procedures.
Partnership & Collaboration: Possesses knowledge of stakeholder identification, communication, engagement techniques, and management effectiveness tools and methods. Responsibilities include engaging with team members on a periodic basis to establish credibility and analyzing stakeholder needs.
Influential Communication: Possesses knowledge of verbal/nonverbal behaviors; applications and allocation of business communication styles/techniques in ambiguous and challenging situations. Responsibilities include organizing thoughts and communicating credibly and concisely, presenting to and influencing team members, and independently assembling and preparing reports.
Employee Health and Safety: Possesses knowledge of OSHA guidelines; compliance, safety, and food safety auditing processes. Responsibilities include coordinating directly with emergency responders in the event of an emergency and enforcing compliance with OSHA standards.
Process Improvement: Possesses knowledge of workflow mapping processes; continuous improvement principles; control definition techniques. Responsibilities include defining the critical workflows for executing key processes and coaching team members to develop process improvement skills.
Asset Protection Training Delivery: Possesses knowledge of training methodologies; training content development processes. Responsibilities include participating in delivering training content and assisting in the delivery and evaluation of training program components.
Risk Management: Possesses knowledge of risk management processes; risk assessment reports, risk management tools. Responsibilities include producing and interpreting common risk assessment and management reports and evaluating risk assessment models.
Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications...
Option 1: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety Management; Industrial Hygiene; Environmental Science, Chemical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field AND 1 year of experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety within Supply Chain, Retail, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
Option 2: 3 years of experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety within Supply Chain, Retail, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
2 years of experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies (for example, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean Six Sigma) within Supply Chain or manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualifications...
1 or More Degreed Certifications (Associate Safety Professional; Certified Safety Professional; Certified Industrial Hygienist; Graduate Safety Practitioner) or Non-degreed certifications (Safety Management Specialist; Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician; Safety Trained Supervisor; etc.).
