The Claims Adjuster position is responsible for investigating, reviewing, processing and closing/settling claims.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze, investigate, and settle domestic customer claims, including document requests, agent/driver communication, and assignment of repair services.
- Communicate with customer and business associates by telephone, email, or written correspondence.
- Adhere to departmental guidelines regarding timeliness in returning calls or e-mails, productivity, and accuracy.
- Negotiate fair and reasonable resolution.
- Process payment to customer and vendors.
- Accurately update computer system following standardized claims management guidelines.
- Keep department manager and other personnel advised of difficult claim issues.
- Handle/organize projects and additional tasks, as assigned by department management.
- Represent and protect company in an ethical and professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office.
- 1 year moving & storage or 3 years insurance adjuster experience.
- Proficient in customer services.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good reasoning and negotiation skills.
- Math aptitude.
Physical Requirements
- Work at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Move about the office to access office machinery, cabinets, etc.
- Operate a computer and other office machinery.
- Communicate frequently over the phone.
- Other duties as assigned by department.
