We’re looking for a bright, hands-on accounting professional who loves variety to join our Accounting Department. Your love of solving complex problems, attention to detail, and commitment to partnering with program staff and accounting skills will support programs and leadership in fulfilling our mission. This position plays a critical role on the finance team managing period-end closing procedures such as preparing, reviewing, reconciling, and issuing invoices and bills. Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Support the mission of 180 Degrees, Inc. by overseeing all financial, accounting, and reporting activities.
- Process weekly accounts payable; verify data entry and coding are accurate to the proper grant.
- Prepare, analyze, and issue federal 1099 reports to vendors.
- Prepare and submit billing, make bank deposits, prepare journal entries, and prepare A/R reports as required.
- Assist management in the preparation of grants and other requests for proposals.
- Report to the Senior Accountant and Chief Financial Officer.
Staff Accountant Competencies:
- Associate degree in accounting; bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience preferred.
- A clear understanding of GAAP and demonstrated accounting knowledge.
- Experience with and knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and external agencies.
- Solid problem-solving and team-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain cooperative relationships.
