Japanese company seeks a Senior Financial Analyst/ Senior Staff Accountant.

Job Title: (Bilingual Position) Senior Financial Analyst / Senior Staff Accountant

Target Salary: $80,000 ~ $90,000 / year

Overview:
We are currently seeking a Bilingual Senior Financial Analyst who is fluent in both Japanese and English. This role requires a balance of financial planning and analysis with a focus on tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate tax, preferably with experience in an accounting/tax firm, and will be responsible for coordinating with outside accounting firms for the preparation of tax returns. This role offers a hybrid work schedule where it offers 2 days onsite & 3 days remote.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax:
- Primary responsibility is to coordinate with outside accounting firms for the preparation of tax returns
- Assist in tax planning and transfer pricing
- Regularly update the controller on tax compliance status and any issues that arise
Finance:
- Assist in cash planning
- Prepare budgets and monthly and annual financial reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements for management and the parent company in Japan
- Assist in the development and analysis of the annual budget process. Compile and review departmental budgets, taking into account actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income
- Consolidate a wide range of operating and financial projections needed to develop short-term and long-term business plans
- Regularly present financial reports to the controller and other members of the management team
Financial Accounting:
- Play a major role in preparing US GAAP financial statements
- Communicate with group companies in relation to various reporting preparation
- Analyze and interpret financial information to help management make sound and informed business decisions
- Research and compile financial data from multiple sources. Examine trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and incurred obligations to predict future revenues and expenses
Managerial Accounting:
- Audit the company’s accounting procedures, verify the accuracy of its financial and accounting records. Search for potential mismanagement, waste, and fraud. Ensure appropriate internal controls exist and are followed
- Review the company’s operations to evaluate and monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting procedures. Ensure continued compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations

Must-Have Qualifications:

Fluency in both Japanese (both written and verbal) and English
Experience in corporate tax, preferably with a background in an accounting/tax firm

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
A minimum of 5-7 years of accounting, finance or a related experience, including some international finance/accounting exposure
Thorough knowledge of all areas of accounting and reporting, including budgets, general ledger, reconciliations, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow
Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with strong Excel skills
