Global medical device company in Tempe, Arizona is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst, Corporate FP&A in the Global Corporate FP&A team reporting directly to the Director FP&A, WW Revenue. You will partner with the Commerce business team to understand requirements, quantify key risks and opportunities, influence decision making, and become the Commerce business finance expert. You will develop strong relationships with all assigned business partners, working closely with key stakeholders including but not limited to global commercial, Operations, and Finance teams to drive reporting and analytics enhancements and development.
This position has a base salary up to $125K and a hybrid work schedule with T, W and TH in office.
Business partnering
- Support FP&A head of Commerce business in creation of annual Commerce business budgets, monthly forecasts, Latest Estimates, etc. working with business partners to develop key assumptions, including but not limited to Sales, COGS, OPEX, Contribution Margin, Headcount, etc.
- Drive the monthly Commerce forecast process, partnering with Commerce team to update key assumptions and outline potential risks and opportunities, proactively making recommendations.
- Model performance scenarios, outlining / quantifying key risks and opportunities, to assist leadership team in decision-making.
- Support Commerce business investment appraisals, including performance marketing, profitability and KPI sensitivities.
- Support the monthly Sales & Operating Plan process, providing insight on prior month’s performance relative to forecast that delivers impactful insights and helps tell the business and financial story.
- Partner with global counterparts to drive best in class reporting/forecasting/modelling across the global Commerce organization.
- Partner with the Commerce business teams, produce and review the daily, weekly, and periodic performance of Commerce KPIs, providing commentary and insights.
- Own monthly reviews of Commerce business P&L with leadership teams and perform meaningful and insightful analyses ensuring correct accruals are being made.
Reporting and analytics development & enhancement
- Partner with the business and IT teams to design and implement important decision support data/analytics utilizing our business intelligence platform.
- Work with BI teams to build and develop the reporting capabilities of Power BI and other reporting tools, including KPI dashboard reporting required to support Company’s businesses.
- Analyze the detail behind the numbers, proactively seeking out issues with integration and reporting and working with the relevant departments to find solutions; ensure the correct data is captured where any data issues are found.
- Influence the development of scalable financial processes and metrics by partnering with business, finance, and systems teams to drive continual process improvement leveraging best practices, standardization, and automation.
- Other duties and adhoc projects may be assigned.
Background Required:
- 6+ years of relevant Finance experience; with exposure to detailed analytics and forecasting for the P&L, focusing on top-line growth.
- BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills required.
- Robust financial modeling experience with ability to understand and construct financial models.
- Advanced Excel skills essential; and systems experience such as SAP, Business Objects BI reporting, Planning systems and data visualization tools.
- Team player, problem solver, system oriented with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working with cross functional and global teams and be able to be flexible and/or accommodate regional time differences.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision under high pressure, be results oriented and be able to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment.
- To be results-driven and pragmatic – understand that data is only valuable when it is translated to actionable insights for the business.
- To be curious & analytical – you must be able to ask the right questions, identify relevant sources, combine data sets, crunch numbers and present actionable conclusions.
