Alpha Southwest has been doing business since 1964 and has grown into the largest deep-set turbine water well contractor in our region. Our services include a pump/well division, electrical division and an electric motor repair division allowing us to provide comprehensive services to our customers. Alpha Southwest also maintains additional operations in El Paso, TX.
This small office is looking for a skilled and versatile Accounting Manager to join our team and perform a wide range of accounting tasks from sales invoicing and collections to financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, a practiced manager of a small team, and have sufficient experience in Time & Materials Billing and Accounts Receivables in particular.

Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts
- Credit card coding and receipt tracking
- File Gross Receipts, Sales and Use taxes
- Assist with accounting analysis and maintain internal controls
- Apply cash receipts, collection calls
- Purchase order entry and receiving
- Enter accounts payable and process for payment
- Daily banking transactions
- Provide job related reporting for internal review
- Weekly reporting for management
- Assist with period-end reconciliations and financial reporting
- General ledger maintenance and coding of expense and revenue entries
- Oversee daily bookkeeping activities performed by other office/branch members
- Additional tasks as requested
What we are looking for:
- Education (BA/BS/AA/AS degree) in accounting OR equivalent accounting experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience managing a small accounting/admin team required
- Must have experience with accounting software: Great Plains and/or Epicor Kinetics software is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
- Minimum 4 years experience with full-cycle accounting required, including a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping , GAAP Principles, and accounts payable/receivable practices as well as a proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment a huge plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, self-starter, and handle multiple priorities/projects simultaneously

- This office works 9-hour days Mondays-Thursdays and 4-hour days on Fridays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
