Job DescriptionJohnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Senior Accountant with work in a manufacturing environment. This is a direct hire opportunity with a fast-growing organization in the food service industry located in Syosset NY.
Pay between $100K & $120K depending on experience.
Position OverviewThis position will lead the reporting and planning for financial and accounting activities. Responsibilities will include governance reporting, managing the monthly close process, recommending optimal product pricing for key customers, and variance analyses to support sales, payroll, and plant metrics.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesGovernance Reporting- Manage the month end closing process and finalization of the general ledger.
- Review and collect cost summaries by product type.
- Reconcile plant balance sheet accounts.
- Compile allocation files with input from multiple data sources and validate data integrity.
- Variance analysis, able to identify and explain data variances.
Pricing- Review key customer pricing changes with executive leadership team.
- Calculate price changes and update via internal systems.
- Update price change templates with forward looking averages.
Fixed Assets- Support the asset request process including expenditure tracking, development of return on investment, and completing asset creation requests.
- Calculate depreciation for new assets placed into service.
- Collect and report on expenditures.
Sales / Payroll Support- Provide insights on achievement of plant key performance metrics with a strong focus on cost reduction and improved operating efficiencies.
- Provide analytical support with respect to projects including capital appropriations, new product development, and plant utilization/capacity/asset management issues.
- Complete payroll tax entry.
Financial Analysis- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to assess plant performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize efficiency strategies.
- Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
Qualifications- 5+ years’ strong general accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
