Your Wireless, a Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer, is seeking an experienced and meticulous Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide guidance and support to accounting staff.

As a Senior Bookkeeper for Your Wireless, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and updating general ledger accounts by reconciling transactions and posting entries
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Monitoring and reviewing financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Preparing and maintaining financial statements, reports, and summaries on a regular basis
- Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, billing, and collections
- Reviewing and approving payment batches, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds
- Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and clients to resolve payment discrepancies and inquiries
- Monitoring cash flow and assisting in cash management activities
- Preparing and presenting financial reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement
- Assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making processes
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements
- Assisting in preparing documentation and supporting schedules for audits and tax filings
- Implementing internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial assets and mitigate risks
- Providing guidance, training, and mentorship to accounting department staff
- Supervising and reviewing the work of accounting department staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles
- Fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment to promote professional development and growth
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in accounting operations
Your Wireless requires candidates for the Senior Bookkeeper position to have the following skills and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting supervisor, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years in a senior role
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership qualities with a focus on team collaboration and development
- Must be 18 years of age or older and able to provide proof of work eligibility in the US
