Job Summary:
Textron is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in executing assigned journal entries, completing balance sheet account reconciliation, performing accounts payable duties and supporting the financial reporting team. Textron also offers a CPA and other Finance Related Certifications Reimbursement and Bonus Completion program. The program provides financial assistance and incentives to achieve certification, including reimbursement of study materials and exam fees as well as a bonus payment for successfully passing all 4 parts of the CPA exam within a certain time frame.
Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned journal entries, including accruals, consolidation entries, foreign exchange, intercompany, and overall maintenance of accounts.
- Complete balance sheet account reconciliations by verifying completeness and accuracy of data and identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Perform accounts payable duties by processing invoices, verifying payment documentation, and ensuring the correct allocation of charges.
- Opportunity to support certain business-unit accounting and finance teams related to accounting and close projects as required.
- Support the financial reporting team through the completion of assigned SEC deliverables.
- Assist in providing management reporting requirements and ad-hoc requests, including results and variance analyses.
- Support the execution of the enterprise-wide control plan, including the tracking and execution of Control Plan deliverables.
- Develop inter-departmental and cross-business unit relationships through assignments and networking opportunities.
- Provide cross-department assignment support based on department needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have strong work ethic and be able to meet critical deadlines.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- BA/BS degree in accounting.
