The Accounts Payable Associate provides support to Real Estate Accountants to ensure accurate and timely payment of lease-required financial obligations. The associate will work closely with landlords and Store Operations management to ensure all billed charges are proper, as defined in the lease agreement.
This role is Hybrid, working only 1-2 days in office.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide support to Real Estate Accountants to ensure prompt and accurate monthly rent payments (processing/printing weekly check runs).
- Prepare and report landlord-reportable sales to landlords monthly.
- Maintain current cost information in Lucernex real estate management program.
- Verify occupancy accounts and correct GL entries as required.
- Obtain approval and coding for store fines, maintenance, etc., and enter for payment.
- Assist with review of year-end CAM (common area maintenance) and real estate tax statements and verifies lease compliance.
- Review monthly statements and make appropriate adjustments in Lucernex.
- Assist with period-end financial close process, including journal entries to record applicable rent expense accruals.
- Maintain Certificate of Insurance process between Landlord and Torrid.
- Match and mail payment documents.
- Confirm all payment packages and rent runs have been scanned into Ascend.
- Scan checks and other reports into Lawson/Rent Folder.
- Process Landlord ownership changes (obtain approval, required documents, federal ID number, etc.)
- Request ACH information for locations paid via paper check.
- Contact Landlord with questions on billings.
- Collect, open, and identify store numbers for all mail.
What You’ll Need:
- 1+ years of experience in accounting, financial operation, or a combination of education with equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Basic knowledge of real estate concepts and lease terminology.
