Job Description Summary
The Value-based Savings Analyst reports to the Executive Director of Value-based Savings in the MUSC Population Health Department. Under general supervision, the Analyst provides expertise in evaluating and resolving complex technical issues and demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills to drive value-based savings program results. The Analyst takes a lead role in projects; participates in team and project meetings and provides input on intelligent solutions to improve efficiency. The Analyst is able to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner, and able to take direction and support a variety of projects. The Analyst is able to conduct research and educate oneself in unfamiliar areas to gain expertise and assist with various projects. Exhibit efficiency, collaboration, candor, openness, and results orientation. Must be able to demonstrate skills in framing analytic problems, identifying key stakeholders, acquiring and preparing data, selecting and applying analytic tools, and producing actionable results.

Job Description
The Analyst develops business analysis using vendor-supplied analytics platforms - Epic Cogito. End User training must be achieved to perform job duties. Interfaces directly with operational leadership to learn about challenges in reducing costs for lives in Value-Based Contracts. The Analyst has the ability to read and understand value-based contract components. Ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data visualization. Ability to generate data visualization that clearly communicates business needs.
Minimum Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in related field required. Experience in one or more of the three domains of analytics required: descriptive, predictive, or prescriptive. Experience with claims data and/or electronic health record data desired. Associated technical skills to include use of analytic tools and data management tools (e.g., SQL, SAS) desired; associated skills in data analysis, data presentation, and best-practice/care-pathway implementation in a major Electronic Medical Record System desired, and Epic preferred.
