- Assume responsibility for aspects of month end close, including preparation of journal entries and schedules.
- Supervise selected office staff.
- Evaluate accounting-related issues and problems, resolving or referring to Controller as appropriate.
- Manage transactions related to Capital Campaign and work-in-progress for new facility.
- Handle financial aspects of selected grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Serve as financial liaison to selected program directors around their budgets and contracts.
- Assist in program and agency budget preparation and analysis.
- Participate in preparation for annual audit.
- Other duties as required.
Experience and Skills:
At least five years’ experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in a non-profit environment.
Maturity, problem-solving ability and good judgment.
Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, proactive, and assertive; follow through with tasks until completed and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Excel.
Enjoys working as part of a team.
