Now, we’re inviting a motivated Assistant Tax Accountant to bring their passion for precision and integrity to our tax team.
In this role, you’ll play a part in managing tax returns and ensuring compliance with ever-evolving regulations. With tasks spanning VAT, corporate tax, and PAYE Settlement Agreement returns, you’ll become an essential contributor in month-end tax reporting and statutory accounts. Supported by the team, you’ll be encouraged to develop new skills and bring forward ideas that can streamline our processes and elevate our impact.

Minimum Requirements: Ideally, you’re currently pursuing or have a tax or accountancy qualification (AAT/ATT). You’re someone who thrives in a detail-oriented role, dedicated to meeting deadlines, and willing to learn and evolve. Honesty and integrity are at the core of how you work, aligning perfectly with Volvo Group’s values. You have experience in a finance team, a good level of Excel expertise (pivot tables and lookups), and a knack for adapting to various systems like SAP, Kestrel, and DMS.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Contribute to preparing VAT returns for Volvo Group UK Ltd, Renault Truck Commercials Ltd, BRS Ltd, and overseas entities with UK and Irish VAT registrations.
- Support the preparation of UK and Irish intrastat and EC sales reporting.
- Assist with corporate tax return preparation by analysing specific expenses to ensure accurate liability calculations for Volvo Group UK Ltd, Renault Truck Commercials Ltd, and BRS Ltd.
- Help prepare PAYE Settlement Agreement returns by reviewing expenditure on entertainment and gifts.
- Review duties paid, managing recharges as needed.
- Provide broad support across various tax-related areas as required.
