Investment Analyst Intern - Alternative Investments
As an Investment Analyst Intern, you will support our Alternative Investments function and work alongside your hiring manager, mentor, and team to complete tasks critical for Northwestern Mutual's success. We are here to help you both identify and continue to develop your future career goals and passions. Job responsibilities include:
- Support ongoing Alternative Investment enhancements to help Advisors participate in a more streamlined way.
- Monitor Advisor usage of alternative investments across products and funds. Identify trends, monitor Advisor usage and note information on an ongoing basis.
- Support implementation of new products and maintain existing products by updating reports and excel spreadsheets.
Bring Your Best! What this role needs. Minimum qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Currently attending a local college in Milwaukee, WI.
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- Previous work or classroom experience in one or more of the following: Investments, Introduction to Finance, Alternative Investments.

Preferred skills and Proficiencies
- Aptitude to critically and logically evaluate costs, risks and benefits of alternatives before coming to a solution.
- Skilled at engaging and modeling adventurous, consultative and constructive dialogue; confidence to offer new and potentially challenging ideas to further conversation and critical thinking.
- Ability to deliver difficult and/or sophisticated messages and help others understand multiple points of view.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
- High degree of self-motivation, passion, and a strive to learn.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities.

Compensation Range:
Minimum: $16.50
Midpoint: $23.25
Maximum: $30.00
Pay rates for internships are determined based on academic tenure and major.
