Job Description:
Position Summary:
This role is responsible to provide direction and guidance to the Account Sales Specialist team and act as a liaison between Account Sales Managers, Category Managers and Merchandisers for current and new potential customers. Oversee the team in execution of outbound sales and promotional opportunities.
Here's what you’ll do:
- Supervise the Account Sales Specialists team and ensure execution of day-to-day responsibilities and tasks.
- Monitor sales communications to new and potential customers to establish new business for customized and specialized category opportunities, communicate upcoming promotional/seasonal programs.
- Capitalize on analytical insights (e.g. historical, etc.) completed by Sales Ops team to drive and execute identified sales opportunities.
- Plan and execute distribution of targeted communications and resources for new and existing customers.
- Proactive outbound sales calls to current and new potential customers aligns to a specific region to enhance sales of "at risk" items in warehouse, prioritizing larger customers first.
- Build in-depth knowledge of latest sales menu cascaded from Account Sales Managers to successfully convert large numbers of outbound sales calls into customer sales/orders/leads.
- Closely collaborate with Account Sales Managers in growing share of wallet, sales revenue with emphasis on "fresh" categories within customer accounts.
- Audit market intelligence on industry trends, market activities and competitor actions to activate with customers and share back with Sales Ops, who will use the information to generate analytical insights for identifying additional sales opportunities.
- Coach Account Sales Managers and Field Merchandisers to gather customer feedback and identify additional sales opportunities (e.g., void/gap analysis).
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Sales, Business Administration or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years' experience in Sales, Business Administration or related area.
- Experience in a grocery, retail or wholesale environment preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills to effectively work with vendors and customers.
- Strong project management and negotiation skills to balance deadline requests.
- Advanced proficiency in sales software and in Microsoft Office (i.e. Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must have attention to detail and effective planning, organization, prioritization and project/time management skills to meet deadline driven timelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal Associates, including management, and external customers.
- General knowledge of sales strategies and basic analytical skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and travel occasionally (up to 25%) for training or customer account reviews.
