Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in calculating, processing, posting, verifying, and maintaining data and payments to accounts payable records. This role reports directly to the Director of Accounts Payable. This position will support our Finance team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all invoice to pay (AP) processes (including disbursements, supplier master data, invoice processing, exception resolution and customer service) and Corporate Card Programs (Travel and Purchasing Card).
- Participate in financial standards setting, forecast, and reporting process.
- Prepare weekly actual to forecast variance analysis for payables.
- Use metrics and data analysis to identify and drive process improvements and operational excellence.
- Oversee a team of Accounts Payable function in the daily process of accurately keying payable transactions, handling exceptions, and payment processing.
- Train, supervise, develop, and motivate assigned staff to create a highly effective, cohesive team providing excellent results and customer service.
- Manage the vendor compliance and onboarding, accounts payable, payments, corporate credit card, employee reimbursement, and 1099 processes to ensure timely and accurate results.
- Lead supplier master governance related initiatives.
- Oversee 1099 reporting process.
- Resolution of high volume of escalations, while providing excellent customer service.
- Proactively manage issues impacting the accuracy or timeliness of vendor payments.
- Manage vendor and internal support, inquiry research, response, and the resolution process.
- Ensure that processes and procedures are thoroughly documented, and controls are in place for areas of responsibility.
- Oversee and manage the corporate card program (both Purchase and Travel Card).
- Develop and drive the strategy and best practices in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Utilize Concur to perform and/or oversee expense report audits to ensure compliance with corporate policies.
- Monitor outstanding T&E reports for delays or escalation required to process.
- Support Concur and administration of employee profiles.
- Build highly effective collaborative relationships within Business Units to ensure seamless interaction and outstanding communication with accounting teams, business units, and operations.
- Utilize performance metrics to manage team performance and understand opportunities for improvement.
- In collaboration with Director of Accounts Payable, oversee system implementations/upgrades for all systems as related to accounts payable.
- Lead and participate in special projects as required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance preferred)
- 5+ years Management experience
- 5+ years accounting experience or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong technical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SAP, Coupa and/or Concur systems experience is helpful
- Strong T&E, corporate card, and new vendor setup expertise is a plus
- 1099 reporting experience is desired
- Ability to produce clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Excellent customer service initiative
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills
