UNM Early Childhood Services Center is seeking to hire a Training Support Analyst to provide wide-ranging technical and operational support in the design, development, promotion, and evaluation of training and related initiatives, programs, media, and events for a major, multifaceted operating unit or corporate-level activity of the department. Undertakes integrated special projects, plans, and coordinates special events, and participates in the administrative and fiscal management of the office and its various activities. Duties typically include assisting with purchasing and tracking PCard expenses and/or other associated transactions with a high level of detail and accuracy in using Excel, program implementation and administration, internal and external operational/administrative liaison, program marketing, and reporting. The desired candidate for this high-energy position is customer service-oriented; efficient; and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This position will also hold administrative duties and a UNM purchasing card. Employee primarily works alone, with or without direction from supervisor and will work as a member of a dynamic unit and must be adaptable and willing to work as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and coordinates production of brochures, flyers, catalogs, and web-based marketing, publicity, and promotional materials.
- Plans, develops, and implements various special projects as assigned; plans, coordinates, promotes and facilitates special events, programs, and/or activities.
- Researches, collects, and analyzes data; prepares scheduled and ad hoc reports, using database programming techniques; maintains records and statistical information for the office.
- Designs and develops training templates for programs and workshops; assists instructors in designing and formatting materials.
- Provides technical assistance in the design and development of publications and reports through formatting, graphic design, and editing.
- Designs, develops, and maintains web-based learning resources.
- Works with subject matter experts to develop outlines for new courses and/or modifications to existing courses.
- Assists with departmental budgeting and monitors expenses for cost-effectiveness.
- Performs various operational, clerical, and/or administrative support tasks as assigned; serves as back-up support in the day-to-day coordination of training activities as needed.
- Some statewide travel may be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.
- Ability to understand and interpret educational needs and to develop effective instructional media solutions.
- Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
- Records maintenance skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of current authoring languages, editing, and authoring tools, and related website technologies.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
- Ability to create complex, original graphic design and comprehensive layout concepts.
- Organizing and coordinating skills.
- Knowledge of database construction, management, and retrieval methods.
- Skill in preparing instructional aids and plans.
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, accountability, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
- Meticulous, notices small mistakes, and can deliver high quality, accurate work.
- Knowledge of computer navigation sufficient to be able to teach other users.
- Ability to problem-solve in customer service/support environment.
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining supportive work relationships.
- Some background in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365 Suite including Word, Excel, Teams, and Zoom setup.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
