JOB OPENING
Epiq Solutions is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, and providing expert financial reporting that supports our strategic objectives. Specific job tasks include the following:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cash management
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy
- Support quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
- Prepare and review budgets and forecasts
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes
- Maintain company accounting procedures and processes
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
- Prepare entries and adjustments to company records, files, and statements
- Document and monitor internal controls
Requirements:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification preferred
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or a related area
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with financial statement preparation and consolidation
- Proven ability to work with large amounts of data and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling finances
- Demonstrated experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in conducting internal audits and liaising with external auditors
