The Tax Accountant Lead will be involved in various tax compliance, consulting and planning issues related to the parent organization and its subsidiaries, with a strong emphasis on international tax matters. The incumbent will be a member of a global tax department and will have primary responsibility for the preparation of the U.S. parent organization's international tax returns and assist our international tax advisors in the preparation of our foreign subsidiaries and branch offices currently located in fifteen countries throughout Europe and Asia. In this role, the candidate will work closely with both the corporate controllers division and our international subsidiaries finance departments who are primarily devoted to international accounting. The candidate will work closely with the tax director and the international business units to accurately report all transactions from a compliance perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact to coordinate the preparation of the U.S. tax returns with the domestic Tax Lead;
- Responsible for coordinating with the tax accounting team for financial reporting purposes;
- The preparation, review and collection of tax packages from ETS's international BU's for the preparation of ETS's U.S. tax returns;
- The preparation and review of the organization's Form 5471s and applicable attachments for the proper filing of the company's U.S. Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax and the U.S. Exempt Organization Business Return;
- Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual international tax compliance reporting for ETS's foreign subsidiaries with our local tax and accounting compliance teams;
- Review international corporate contracts for value added tax and sales tax issues;
- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting income tax matters for federal and international planning projects;
- Review/monitor foreign tax returns compliance tracking system, review inter-company transactions quarterly, and maintain a current foreign tax calendar;
- Contribute as the group leader to decision-making and improvement in documenting transfer-pricing studies;
- Support international tax initiatives and special projects in coordination with the tax director. Includes cross-border repatriation planning, and foreign tax credit utilization modeling;
- Develop process improvements in the tax packages and tax compliance processes overall;
- Calculation and tracking significant tax attributes of our international entities, including E&P, tax basis, Section 987 FX exposures, and tax credits;
- Process subpart F and other book-tax differences with tax accounting in connection with financial reporting and financial planning;
- Conduct research and analysis of the tax law as well as the company's financial statements;
- Acquisition work; due diligence reviews; research and analysis on tax law and tax law changes;
- Responding to regular tax inquiries from internal employees and departments;
- Audit preparation and may oversee lower level personnel work;
- Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function.
Required Experience:
- B.S. Degree of Accounting or Finance
- J.D., MST or C.P.A. (or similar certification depending on jurisdiction) preferred
- 6+ years of experience in corporate tax department with a large multinational enterprise or with an accounting firm
- Strong Technology Skills Including (Excel, Corptax, and Vertex)
- Working knowledge of ASC 740-10 and APB 28
- Awareness to Drive Process Improvements

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Initiative-taker with proven ability to take ownership of job responsibilities
