Job Details: The candidate will join a team of CSSP analysts in defending DoD networks and ensuring our national security interests. The candidate will perform the following tasks:
- Analyze network data to include packet capture analysis and network flow analysis.
- Employ vulnerability management solutions to create reports based on findings.
- Assist with a wide range of Cyber security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access, and reviews and recommends changes.
- May interface with external entities (e.g. law enforcement, intelligence/government agencies, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum DoD security clearance of Secret.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Active CSSP Analyst certification (or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with network cyber-defense capabilities.
- Basic understanding of the TCP/IP model, network threats, potential network exploitation, and methods to defend against potential malicious activity.
- Basic knowledge of Computer Network Defense activities to include standard cyber-defense Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Protection Systems (IPS), network monitoring, packet capture analysis, network flow analysis, network proxy operation, firewalls, vulnerability management solutions, and anti-virus capabilities.
- Familiarity with encryption technology, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies.
- Familiarity with information technology security research.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with system administration or help desk.
- Experience with ACAS and HBSS solutions.
- Familiarity with the Linux terminal and Bash scripting.
- Active on learning platforms such as HackTheBox and TryHackMe.
Required Education Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field of study.
