Financial Business Analyst
Fully RemoteThe Financial Business Analyst is a new role designed to support the business architecture of our organization's financial and resource management systems. They will manage process area connections across our organization's ecosystem of interdependent systems and overall operating model. This new FBS role will work to ensure that people, processes, procedures, and technology remain connected as well as develop and execute strategies for high-impact use of new, disruptive technologies to improve enterprise innovation, automation, efficiency, and insights.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage all scheduled interfaces between multiple financial and resource management systems including monitoring jobs, scheduled and emergency.
- Recommend continuous improvement opportunities and support business case development for enhancements for new reporting opportunities.
- Converting business and leadership requirements into functional specifications and implementations.
- Serves as liaison between HR, Information Technology, Finance, and other departments and external vendors for software design, maintenance, upgrades and implementation projects.
- Coordinate with system application owners and Compliance team to assess, define and implement SOX IT system controls at both the application and infrastructure security level.
- Ensures data integrity with systems through regular reviews and audits of the information.
- Develops and maintains optimal function of our financial and resource management systems, which may include installation, customization, setting permissions, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
- Conduct operational control reviews, execute monitoring of key controls, develop, and implement process improvement activities to mature key IT system controls within the access management and reporting space.
- Review and process all master data and configuration changes in financial and resource management systems.
- Coordinate and maintain test databases and environments.
- Drive resolution of escalated defects and Root Cause Analysis.
- Provide content knowledge for cross-business functional training.
Here's What You Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in maintaining financial or resource management systems.
- Experience with financial system audit readiness, response, or remediation.
- Experience performing audit functions (internal or external) around IT controls and key financial management systems to produce auditable financial statements.
Bonus Points:
- Advanced skills in Deltek Costpoint, Concur, and/or Cognos.
- Advanced skills in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- 2+ years of experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Experience with a resource management system, Professional Service Automation (PSA), Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Human Resources Information System (HRIS), or similar systems.
- Basic skills with Power BI or Cognos.
- Proven ability to work creatively, analytically, and independently in a problem-solving environment.
- Experience in Root Cause identification and recommending solutions to resolve.
- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
