This position is located at Maury Correctional Institution in Greene County. This is para-professional level accounting work in a prison environment. Positions in this job will be responsible for auditing, analyzing, processing, and managing the disbursement of funds for such items as Bus Tickets and external offender purchases. This position receives daily cash report(s) and deposit slips of monies deposited and is responsible for verifying said reports for accuracy, creating deposit recap for funds to be entered into a Cash management system. This is accomplished by creating/keying journal vouchers to the correct account/center so funds can be entered into NCAS. Additional duties include work in the Inmate Banking System, Trust Fund Accounting, and printing manual checks. This position makes daily bank deposits for the facility.

- Documented composition and communication skills (written and oral)
- Documented proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel Office programs
- Documented knowledge of E-Procurement, NCAS or other accounting system
Management Preference: Associate's degree in Accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of accounting experience; or High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in accounting work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
