POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Analysis Advisor will support portfolio expense and DOD client gross margin financial planning and analysis for Accredo. The primary function of the role is analytical support for Finance Planning Team leadership as well as non-Finance Business Partners within Evernorth. The position will own the development and preparation of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis related to volume, gross margin, and expenses, including various revenue and cost components. The candidate will become a subject matter expert in the financial elements of the DOD contract and be the main financial liaison for the DOD Specialty account team. The position will identify and communicate drivers of variance to finance and non-finance stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. Proficiency in Excel and the ability to model data, create, and modify reports are essential. Experience with a multidimensional database like Oracle Essbase is a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead the development of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Perform monthly close functions including financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Report and present findings/analysis to Vice Presidents and Senior Directors on a regular basis.
- Work with immediate and extended finance team on forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis to understand drivers of performance.
- Oversee the budget of certain cost accounts impacting margins. Communicate and coordinate with business owners.
- Provide guidance to business leaders on expense risks and opportunities, utilizing operational metrics and trend analysis.
- Participate in ad-hoc analysis and projects as needed by finance partners and cross-functional partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required. MBA preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of financial planning experience.
- Must be highly analytical, have solid database skills, and possess the ability to discern and develop business requirements.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to manage collaborative efforts while frequently interacting with Director-level and above cross-functional partners to aid in decision making.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel is required (pivot tables, vlookup, logical formulas). Requires intense attention to detail.
- Ability to manage timelines and meet tight deadlines.
- Hyperion Essbase experience is a plus.
