The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking an experienced and qualified individual for the role of Accountant to support our agency.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

- SCHEDULE: Full time, first shift | Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (Hybrid Schedule)

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare simple financial statements and assist in preparation of complex financial statements for assigned federal grants;
- Examine financial documents to ensure accuracy and conformance with requirements;
- Responsible for accounts payable including distributing charges to proper accounts, encumbering accounts for purchase orders, auditing invoices or payments for accuracy and compliance;
- Gather and consolidate payroll and expenditure data to facilitate budget preparation;
- Ensure expenditures plus encumbrances are within appropriation limits;
- Ensure routine payments are in compliance with contract provisions;
- Work with program staff on creation of budget for new funding.
