What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with data engineers and underwriters to gather and prepare data for catastrophe modeling
- Support underwriting and actuarial teams by interpreting modeling outputs and pricing reinsurance contracts
- Prepare analytical reports on reinsurance contracts for underwriters
- Analyze risks related to data quality, accuracy, and completeness
- Stay updated with advancements in the catastrophe modeling industry and software
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of catastrophe modeling experience, including working with large data sets
- Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and analytical tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during event responses and business assessments
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Minor concentration or additional degree in Meteorology
- Possession or pursuit of an ARe certification
- Experience with catastrophe modeling software such as RMS and AIR
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
