JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Financial Analysis Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Finance
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The purpose of this position is to support the Agency's needs by controlling and managing all of the grant programs of the Agency to ensure compliance with funder policies. Supervise the Financial Analysts and ensure the Financial Analysts work with each assigned program's manager to analyze and report all financial activity within the grant. Ensure all applicable financial reports are submitted to the funders.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Supervise and coordinate workflow of the Financial Analysts.
- Work closely with the Financial Analysts to monitor expenses in each grant for appropriate classifications.
- Work closely with the Program Managers and the Financial Analysts to ensure timely and accurate reporting to the funders.
- Work closely with the Financial Analysts, Program Managers, and VPs on all monitoring visits scheduled with the funders.
- Work closely with the Accounting/Payroll Manager on the monthly financial closing process.
- Work closely with the Budget and Controls Manager on all budget creations and adjustments.
- Report to the Budget and Controls Manager and Chief Financial Officer any financial activity deviations from the funder approved budgets that may require a budget revision.
- Monitor and prepare variance reports.
- Ensure all funder reports completed by the Financial Analysts are submitted by their respective due date.
- Assists in the managing and revising as necessary, all applicable cost allocation tables (occupancy, cell phones, copiers, etc.) in connection with the Agency's monthly financial closing process.
- Review and verify accuracy of all financial data in each program's balance sheet and income statement throughout the year.
- Assist with the monthly and annual closing processes.
- Assist with annual audit and closing of funds.
- Reviews all journal entries prepared by the Financial Analysts and prepares journal entries as needed.
- Assist in maintaining departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist the CFO and Controller as needed.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Perform all other duties as assigned
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration required. Will consider the equivalent amount of related nonprofit account managerial experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum Years of Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of related experience including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity required. Familiarity with Financial Edge preferred.
Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of Federal and State laws governing funding; ability to calculate and apply mathematical concepts; knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
Demonstrated Skills: Proficiency in Windows, financial software and MS Office skills with advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Word required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service and organizational skills. Must exercise educated judgment to perform projections. Demonstrated ability to multitask and be proactive. Ability to supervise staff effectively.
