Position Summary
This position serves as a primary resource for revenue cycle management in tandem with the Billing Manager and Revenue Cycle Coordinator. This is a unique role within the organization with a key responsibility of systems and reporting integration for the purpose of revenue cycle management. The incumbent will be engaged in key RCM projects, the organizational implementation and integration of EPIC as well as the integration of new service line billing. This individual will serve as a primary resource for billing compliance, report development, and the training and education of staff.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $85,000
Actual pay will be determined based on several factors. These may include education, work experience and in some instances, certifications. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
Essential Functions
- Creates and schedules reporting and dashboards to optimize the revenue cycle of the organization and all other ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Identifies and provides timely feedback and solution-focused recommendations on any billing abnormalities resulting in non-payment of claims due to internal/external issues.
- Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding for compliant professional fee billing.
- Serve as liaison with EPIC and SAMMS to develop, test and implement revenue cycle management tools and products to ensure successful billing and payment from third party insurers and patients.
- Serve as subject matter expert on processing/reprocessing of unpaid claims.
- Gather and exchange information with providers and other practice personnel.
- Candidate must be detail oriented and organized.
- Candidate must be able to work well in a team environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
- 3-5 years of medical billing experience with a demonstrated experience in behavioral health professional fee billing, FQHC billing preferred.
- CPC (coding); demonstrated ICD10 proficiency; Experience with ICD-10 and behavioral health CPT codes.
- Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft suite of products, specifically Excel.
- Professional certification (i.e. AAPC) in behavioral health coding strongly preferred.
- Experience with SAMMS and/or EPIC preferred.
- Experience with report writing and development in Power BI, SQL, and/or Crystal Reports preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize and communicate clearly. Uses tact and judgment while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Ability to document coding and abstract findings in the medical record.
- Ability to read and comprehend Medical Records.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
