The Role: The Sr Financial Analyst - Corporate is responsible for the consolidation and timely delivery of financial reporting in a clear and concise manner to internal and external audiences. This role will facilitate the buildout of financial models and reporting tools and presentations to support the evolving reporting and analytics needs of our owners and the internal PetSmart team. In this role, you will develop data-driven financial models that provide valuable insights for the business. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large, confidential and complex data sets, have developed a proven accounting understanding, and possess a high level of attention to detail.
What You’ll Do:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support planning cadences, reporting requirements, and corporate-level reporting, forecasting, and consolidations
- Support the monthly and quarterly Non-GAAP management financial reporting and forecast
- Prepare senior management and board reporting packages
- Build and maintain complex driver based financial and business models
- Support FP&A systems - build, maintain and leverage financial planning systems for budgeting and forecasting
- Proactively partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify financial drivers & maintain the highest level of data quality
- Engage in ad-hoc financial analysis, including special projects at the request of the CFO and Finance leaders
- Monitor existing and define new key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Identify and implement improvements to current processes and technology solutions, drive standardization and build scalable tools
What We’re Looking For:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or CPA is highly desirable
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, Word, and PowerPoint
- Expertise in analyzing large datasets and presenting findings clearly
- Proven understanding of accounting concepts, P&L statements, and financial problem-solving
- Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with SAP and BPC systems is a plus
- Knowledge of database warehouse tools (e.g., MicroStrategy) is a plus
