Sound Physicians’ Accounting team has an exciting opportunity with the potential to drive meaningful impacts to the team and organization.
The ideal candidate for the Operations Staff Accountant will be a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual looking to work for a dynamic, growing company within the health care industry. A rounded accounting education base, analytical thinking, innovative mindset and polished interpersonal skills for interaction with all levels of an organization are key to success in this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monthly invoice preparation and month-end close process
- Responsible for understanding, researching, and analyzing scheduling/payroll information
- Liaison between payroll and operational accounting teams
- Research and resolve operations and accounting compensation questions in a quick and confidential manner
- Assist with the creation and implementation of new standardized processes
- Prepare journal entries and relevant support
- Perform general ledger reconciliations – monthly/quarterly/annually with supporting documentation
- Analysis and interpretation of monthly variances actuals/compared to budget
- Support regional internal and external teams
- Other projects and duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
Education
Minimum: BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, Business Administration or related field
Experience
Minimum: 1-3 years’ experience in public/private accounting
Preferred: 3-5 years’ of experience in public/private accounting, with experience in general ledger, reconciliations, monthly/year-end reporting and understanding of GAAP. Healthcare and/or payroll work environment experience a plus

- Indoor office environment / Hybrid-Remote
- Occasional work requirements on weekends or beyond normal daytime work hours associated with month-end closings (once monthly)
- Sitting at desk working on computer for extended periods of time
- Working on computer for up to eight hours (with breaks)
- Moving/lifting file boxes (up to 25 lbs.)
Pay Range: $65,000 -$77,000. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographical location.
