Job Description:
This position serves as a finance business partner to Barry Wehmiller’s corporate functions and Packaging’s head office. This role works closely with the Corporate Finance Team to simplify and standardize processes and to drive operational efficiencies across the organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Maintain corporate and packaging head office general ledgers (including several foreign holding company entities), ensuring transactions are recorded and balances are reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policy.
- Provide expertise and guidance to other accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions; review the work of other team members as assigned.
- Coordinate the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations/analysis in line with monthly and quarterly close schedules.
- Prepare and/or review monthly consolidated financial statements, management reports and quarterly bank covenant reports and perform monthly financial statement review, research and analysis.
- Support the coordination of the corporate and packaging head office budget process and monthly forecast updates and coordinate the monthly budget to actual analysis process.
- Leadership and coordination of the external audit and annual report preparation processes.
- Design and implement efficient and effective processes, improve existing accounting policies and procedures and identify and implement process improvements as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Research inquiries and provide accounting support/guidance to finance teams across multiple operating divisions.
- Assist with purchase accounting and accounting and reporting integration activities for acquisitions.
- Lead and support special project work, ad hoc financial analysis and acceptance of new opportunities as they develop.
Job Specifications:

- Demonstrated understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Excellent communication skills (written & oral) and proven ability to work effectively with team members outside of finance and at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to converse with the requisite financial acumen with division accounting, operations, treasury, tax and auditors as needed.
- Strong numerical/analytical aptitude, project management and problem-solving skills.
- A high level of integrity, accuracy and dependability.
- Focus on continuous improvement and effective change agent.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks on time with limited supervision.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification
- 3-6 years of accounting experience with increasing responsibility, preferably a mix of public accounting, corporate-level accounting and/or manufacturing industry experience (multinational/multicurrency and supervisory experience preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills a plus
- Experience with OneStream Consolidation software and/or Infor XA/Mapics ERP software is a plus.
