At Regions, the Commercial Credit Services Underwriter works within the Credit Products group to analyze commercial credit requests, prepare credit approval packages, recommend underwriting structures, and make credit decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Uses strong credit skills to competently complete credit approval activities with some management oversight.
- Analyzes credit opportunities using standard or custom risk analysis templates, including Moody’s Risk Analytics, and provides to team management for feedback and approval.
- Demonstrates knowledge of loan policy and competency to interpret financial data, sources of repayment, and propose appropriate structures.
- Understands key risk drivers and articulates strengths of the deal, as well as weaknesses and mitigating factors.
- Works collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including credit officers and relationship managers.
- Exercises independent judgment and adjudicates credit requests.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and five (5) years of commercial loan underwriting, credit analysis or portfolio management experience.
- High School Diploma and nine (9) years of commercial loan underwriting, credit analysis or portfolio management experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Organized, detailed, can multi-task and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and voice issues.
Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
Job Range Target:
Minimum: $82,146.80 USD
50th Percentile: $112,120.00 USD
Incentive Pay Plans: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
