We are working with a highly respected, $1B holding company in a high growth industry headquartered in St. Louis to find a key Senior Corporate Accountant. The role reports to the Director of Finance & Accounting and will collaborate with the 5 holding company Controller on a regular basis. We are seeking hands-on accounting professionals who enjoy individual contributor roles on a small team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own all aspects of the general ledger, including month-end and year-end reconciliations
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Process Holdings’ accounts payables
- Receive invoices, account coding, request approvals, etc.
- Prepare invoices to subsidiaries
- Keep track of invoices paid by Holdings to be recouped through subsidiary billings
- Provide support to the subsidiaries to substantiate out of pocket charges being passed on
- Receive BU trial balances
- Check for accuracy
- Ensure retained earnings rolls
- Identify new accounts and assign classifications / mapping codes
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and investigate variances
- Identify intercompany eliminations (AP/AR, Revenue/COGS)
- Collect, review, and identify intercompany balances and transactions within AR aging, AP aging, and sales reports
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements for accuracy
- Prepare other financial reports / schedules as needed
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Assist with processing payments to tax authorities
- Assist with external audit processes
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred
- 1-6 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements; experience with consolidating financial statements preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
