Position Profile
Weaver's State and Local Tax team is looking for an Associate to join their growing team. This team member will gain experience in tax compliance and consulting services specific to State and Local Taxes. State and Local Tax Associates’ primary responsibilities include:
- Working on complex indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits).
- Preparing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries.
- Researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues and tax implications.
The ideal candidate is a team player who exhibits initiative, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity. A Weaver Associate enjoys flexibility, meaningful client work, and a supportive and innovative work environment.
To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA Candidate, CPA or CMI in progress or complete
- Internship or light experience in public accounting
