The Role: Index Manager, Fixed Income
The Location: Dallas, TX
The Team: The role will be part of the Index Management and Production Group (IMPG) at S&P Global. The team is responsible for the production and management of a wide range of indices covering global options, equities, futures, fixed income, commodity, digital assets and economics indices. This specific role will focus on municipal bond indices, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the indices through meticulous research and analysis.
The Impact: As a Fixed Income Index Manager specializing in the municipal bond market, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our municipal bond indices. Your expertise in the municipal bond market will be essential in researching corporate actions, new issuances, and implementing index changes. The candidate will collaborate with internal teams to design and implement methodologies for Municipal bond indices, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Municipal bond index data, and monitoring market trends and performance of Municipal bond indices.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on corporate actions, new issuances, and other events affecting municipal bonds.
- Analyze and implement changes to municipal bond indices based on research findings.
- Ensure that all index changes are accurately reflected in the index methodology and communicated to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other teams within IMPG to ensure seamless implementation of index changes.
- Maintain key relationships with clients and stakeholders to support the indices.
- Participate in the development of new municipal bond indices, including feasibility analysis and methodology development.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and other factors affecting the municipal bond market.
- Provide subject matter expertise on municipal bonds to internal and external stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, focus in math, economics, or finance or related fields.
- At least 3+ years of professional experience working directly with Municipal Bonds in Fixed Income Indices, asset management, trade operations or related roles.
- A demonstrable understanding of fixed income markets, particularly the Municipal bond market dynamics, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of Python & experience with process automation is a plus.
- Must be able to work independently on multiple projects with a strong sense of initiative.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities on large data sets to solve problems in a timely and insightful manner.
- Ability to learn S&P DJI’s proprietary index calculation platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate work done by multiple people and/or groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
- CFA or progress toward CFA and/or CIPM certification.
- Experience working with index management or financial data services.
- Familiarity with S&P DJI’s index methodologies and processes.
- Experience collaborating with global teams and managing multiple projects.
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus.
