Vixxo is seeking a full-time, Senior Accountant to be based in Scottsdale, AZ.
THE TEAM
The Senior Accountant supports the Accounting Manager in ensuring accurate & timely accounting and proper recording & presentation of all financial transactions, in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position works closely with Accounts Payable, FP&A, IT, Projects, Business Analytics, and Operations teams on all accounting and financial matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible and accountable for ensuring all transactions are properly recorded in accordance with US GAAP.
- Serve as the key point of contact for the Accounts Payable, FP&A, Projects and Business Analytics team, and be accountable for all accounting & reporting matters related to those teams.
- Collaborate with all departments, including those outside of finance, to support overall company goals and objectives, and develop strong relationships with management and other team members through effective communication.
- Coordinate day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing and posting daily/monthly journal entries, specifically related to unbilled reserves, fixed assets, expense classification and coding, borrowing base and debt transactions, intercompany transactions, and various other reserves/estimates, while maintaining proper supporting schedules, documentation, and appropriate levels of approval.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned accounts, research any outstanding items and recommend and implement corrective action to ensure items are being cleared timely and appropriately.
- Proactively lead collaborative review meetings, including quarterly Balance Sheet reviews with Finance leaders, and ensure appropriate follow-up and accountability for deliverables discussed.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and designing, implementing and maintaining new processes to improve the effectiveness of workflows and help the team scale efficiently.
- Champion the creation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP, including but not limited to accounting for revenue recognition, expense recognition and accounting estimates.
- Lead compliance audits and annual financial audits with banking institutions and external auditors.
- Be the key point of contact with Vixxo International (outsource partner) to maintain, prioritize and further develop deliverables to be transitioned offshore.
- Support, cross-train, and serve as backup for other team members as needed.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain an effective internal control environment and up-to-date documentation of internal controls.
- Assist with other ad-hoc requests or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required. Active CPA license is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years general accounting or audit experience is required.
- Advanced Excel skills required, specifically in high volume data organization and analysis.
- JD Edwards experience is preferred, SAP by Design experience a plus.
- Proven experience with change management, process improvement initiatives and ERP system implementation or upgrade a plus.
- Experience with Projects / Construction accounting a plus.
- Oversight or leading collaboration efforts with outsource partners a plus.
- Public accounting experience a plus.
