This role is an office/hybrid, based out of our Louisville, KY location.
What The Role Is
The Plant Accountant is responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial data to the business and other stakeholders, which is necessary to enhance the data-informed decision-making process of the company and its employees.
How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Responsible for plant accounting and reporting
- Perform various general ledger account reconciliations including but not limited to AR, AP, inventory and prepaids
- Reconcile aging barrel inventory
- Review physical inventory and/or cycle-count program to ensure accuracy
- Work closely with manufacturing and warehouse teams to ensure that all financial transactions and reporting are complete and accurate in a timely manner
- Confirm monthly reconciliation of data sources to drive “one source of truth”
- Prepare monthly financial packages and ad hoc reporting
- Partner with FP&A and other departments to analyze drivers of results
- Reviews plant expenses and activities on both a recurring and ad hoc basis to assist plant leadership in driving data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure reporting systems accumulate, aggregate, and present data correctly
- Partner with IT and FP&A to document and validate allocations of expenses within ERP and reporting systems
- Support corporate accounting in all internal and external financial and operational audits
- Responsible for maintaining plant financial controls
- Accounting projects and other duties as required
Who You Are… (Requirements & Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Two (2) years accounting experience required
- Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, ERP System Software, and other web-based applications
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to think ahead with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Valued But Not Required Skills And Experience
- Distilled Spirits industry experience
- Manufacturing experience
Physical Requirements
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
