About the Team:
One of the pillars of Customer Insights at Lowe’s, the Market Share team aims to understand the market trends and how we perform vs. our competitor at an industry and category level. The team works with internal and external sources to provide insights based on market share and shopper behavior across categories and competitors to enhance Lowe's competitive offering through regular reports, ad-hoc analysis, finding efficiencies, and working with vendors. From validating and onboarding new sources to regular reporting to providing actionable recommendations to business based on deep dives into a category, brand or competitor, the team works on high visibility requests and collaborates closely with various key functions across the business.
Job Summary:
This is an exciting role where the candidate needs to work on internal and external data on market and competitive intelligence to unearth underlying trends and patterns impacting Lowe’s business. The candidate will work on key ongoing projects by understanding the requirements, coming up with the right approach, utilizing the right tools and techniques to complete the project, and presenting the output to stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
- Work with our US (Mooresville) team to assist them in defining various research needs and building appropriate methodology.
- Synthesize disparate sources of data to develop cohesive stories, trends, and insights that will drive strategic decision-making across the enterprise.
- Deliver analysis with shared data to provide actionable recommendations for questions coming from Merchandising, Store Ops, Marketing, etc.
- Storytelling by combining multiple data points, including share, to explain market trends.
- Leverage existing market research information and customer demographic data to understand customer trends.
- Network across various business units to better understand key areas of focus/problem areas and develop pro-active deliverables that will drive action at various levels of the organization.
- Work with the data operation team to develop infrastructure and manage research data for any analytics project.
- Exhibit willingness to learn, collaborate, and maintain an open attitude towards different solutions to solve business problems.
- Work independently, think logically, and present confidently.
- Present insights and analysis results to management and cross-functional teams.
- Stay connected to current industry trends, emerging technologies, and new methodologies, providing guidance to team members.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's in Business / Statistics / Analytics.
- Market Research / consulting background is preferable.
Skill Set Required:
Primary Skills (must have):
- Market research analysis, quantitative analysis, statistical analysis, storytelling, PowerPoint, Excel, syndicated data.
- Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint – advanced knowledge.
- Business understanding – Key company priorities, linking analytical requests to business problems.
- Story building – Presentations that depict results in a way that can be shared across levels.
- Consulting skills - Ability to impact business decisions through analytics and research.
- Hands-on experience in creating executive-level audience-ready presentations to tell impactful stories.
- Excellent communication skills to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Experience with SQL, able to handle large datasets and perform operations independently.
Secondary Skills (desired):
- Experience with Python / BI would be an advantage.
- 2+ years of experience in retail working directly with business functions will be an advantage.
