Under general supervision, performs work of considerable difficulty in the management of a program, administrative activity or operational unit; performs related work as required.

- Plans, manages, and evaluates the activities of the assigned functional area
- Develops and administers the departmental budget
- Monitors and analyzes department revenue and expenses and reports on trends
- Oversees all financial aspects of the Coconino County Fair
- Serves on department's leadership team
- Assists in grant preparation, submission, administration, tracking, and reporting
- Assists in planning, developing and implementing programs and the delivery of services
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates employees and recommends disciplinary actions
- Oversees daily administrative operations, which may include customer service
- Develops, evaluates, revises, and implements financial and administrative policies and procedures
- May serve as team leader or project manager
- Performs other duties as assigned
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to working with and around others; hearing and speech to communicate with others; and finger dexterity for writing, computer work, and phones.
Bachelor's degree in subject area and three years progressively responsible management experience in assigned or closely related field; OR,
Associate's degree in subject area and four years progressively responsible management experience in assigned or closely related field; OR,
Five years progressively responsible management experience in assigned or closely related field; OR,
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
The Ideal Candidate will possess a background in finance or accounting and the ability to manage a moderately complex chart of accounts; an ability to develop and report financial plans; ability to prepare and track trends and report data in a comprehensive, professional manner; ability to manage and conduct high-level cash transactions; ability to supervise, train and professionally develop staff; experience in customer service operations; ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment; ability to be a thoughtful contributor to the Department's Management Team; ability to thrive during periods of high customer service needs, administrative responsibilities, and business transactions; ability to effectively utilize programs such as Excel, Word, Power Point, and QuickBooks, in order to perform the functions described above; and, ability to work Labor Day Weekend.
Preferred Qualifications: Possess government finance or accounting experience and experience managing moderately complex chart of accounts, cash handling, financial planning, and budget development. Familiarity with Munis or similar enterprise systems is preferred.
