POSITION SUMMARY

Develops and monitors the audit scope and risk assessment to ensure audit coverage remains adequate and develops a risk based audit schedule. Plans, executes and reports on operational, financial, regulatory and compliance related audits. Reviews existence, efficiency and effectiveness of the established internal control structure, which includes processes, systems, procedures and personnel. Audit is also responsible for helping to ensure the policies and procedures of the company comply with appropriate laws and regulations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Evaluate the reliability, adequacy, and effectiveness of accounting, operating, and administrative controls.
- Prepare audit work papers. Identify internal controls strengths and weaknesses, accounting errors or compliance violations. Prepare clear and concise documentation of results and communicate task progress to supervising audit personnel.
- Coordinate requests from audit firms for co-sourced reviews and ensures adequacy and appropriateness of reviews.
- Provide consultation and recommend remedial action plans for all noted deficiencies.
- Oversee department projects, including assessing risk and determining level/amount of work required to conclude on the adequacy of controls. Documents project plans with scopes and sample size justification.
- Document the results of audit work in accordance with audit department procedures and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards.
- Prepare timely audit reports for executive management, the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Contribute, as appropriate, to the year-end financial audit with the external auditor.
- Enhance professional, technical and functional audit knowledge via audit certification; participate in professional audit organizations, attend related training sessions and related periodicals and publications.
- Adhere to bank policies and procedures.
- Manage your professional improvement through the utilization of the quarterly Job Progress Plan.
- Engage in Landmark National Bank culture initiatives and team success activities, including huddles and Hoopla events.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
