SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager, under the direct supervision of the Director of Accounting, is responsible for the supervision and control of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger functions, and staff. This position requires review and validity of all information contained in the financial statements including P&L and Balance Sheet.
This position is onsite 4 days/week (Monday through Thursday), remote on Fridays.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manages accounting functions including maintenance of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, budget, and project accounting; ensures accuracy and timeliness.
- Review, validate, and distribute financial statements.
- Manages monthly close of financial records and posting of month-end information.
- Review reconciliations and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaid, fixed assets, payroll, cost & inventory, and other various general ledger activities.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain proper documentation and support of all entries.
- Prepare reconciliation schedule and analyze all balance sheet general ledger accounts including bank reconciliation.
- Work in partnership with members of the finance team to support all functions and efforts related to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and general ledger, and ensure accurate reporting of the financial statements.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be local to the Dallas Fort Worth area.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A) in Accounting with CPA license.
- 5 years of experience in the accounting field.
- Supervisory experience or any combination of experience, education, and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- Previous experience with Lawson M3 is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
- Knowledge of technical and professional principles and skills of accounting including GAAP and IFRS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and independent self-starter.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
