Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Purchasing Supplier Development (PSD) division is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Accessories Buying Analyst.
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop Accessory sourcing strategies, perform cost analysis and establish standards/quality metrics to ensure our Supplier Partners are compensated fairly while maintaining Toyota’s competitive advantage through its North American supply chain.
The person in this role will support PSD Accessories, Logistics and Packaging (ALP) department’s sourcing and cost management to assure that the product is delivered and paid in a timely manner. The candidates should consistently demonstrate attributes of next level capability as outlined in the Toyota Core Competencies and meets expectations of current position.
What you’ll be doing
Sourcing
- Develop sourcing strategies to maximize supply base efficiency for service and accessory parts.
- Solicit, analyze and compare bids through Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotations (RFQ).
- Develop and present supplier selection recommendations to management based on thorough analysis, verification of product specifications and confirmation of supplier performance.
- Execute business award contracts with supplier partners and manage through product lifecycle.
Pricing
- Negotiate with supplier partners for cost savings and avoidance utilizing competitive benchmarking of detailed cost elements and analysis of cost variance.
- Lead Annual Price Review activities with suppliers to promote deep understanding of cost drivers with a focus on Manufacturing Improvement.
- Report accurately and timely to all project milestones including reporting out to top management on creation of target & achievement to such target, including identifying and negotiating all design changes.
Supply Chain Management
- Support new business opportunities for assigned commodities with coordination from other stakeholders such as Planning and Engineering.
- Understand and analyze respective commodity market trends to ensure Toyota is using the right supplier candidates and technologies.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management or equivalent professional experience in a purchasing role.
- Professional experience in a purchasing/procurement role or similar technical role, including responsibility for analysis and negotiation of product/manufacturing cost and supplier sourcing.
- Experience with supply base strategy development & analysis.
- Experience with data analysis with ability to evaluate and identify trends to support decision making & recommendations to management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Added bonus if you have
- Experience working with Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
- Experience working with Automotive Aftermarket or Retail parts vendors.
- Professional experience in a direct buying role, including responsibility for analysis and negotiation of product cost of automotive commodities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel functions: macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP.
- Working experience with Microsoft Power BI (including data importation, slicer manipulation, report creation).
