Primary Function: The Senior Financial Analyst conducts thorough financial analyses and prepares detailed monthly financial reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and variance analyses, providing actionable insights to support business decision making.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Analyze work in progress to see if there are cash flow opportunities, find areas to improve profitability, improve productivity performance, and improve asset utilization.
- Analyze financial data from various sources to identify key performance indicators (KPIs). Interpret financial results and communicate findings in a clear, concise manner to management. Provide insights on cost management, revenue projections, and investment opportunities.
- Build and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
- Evaluate potential investments, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems to increase accuracy, efficiency, and data transparency.
- Provide analytical support for special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad-hoc requests from senior leadership.
- Analyze construction equipment to improve asset utilization, cost effectiveness and overall performance.
- Benchmark results with similar companies within our industry to improve overall performance.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Five years of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting within the construction industry.
- Three to five years of construction industry experience.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to present findings in a clear and impactful manner to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data extraction from ERP and data analysis and visualization).
- Experience with financial software or ERP systems.
- Financial statement analysis.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to improve processes.
