Summary
Balfour Beatty is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide financial reporting and analysis at our Dallas, TX, location. Customer service and relationship management are extremely important to success in this position.
Essential Functions
The successful candidate demonstrates a commitment to add value to our business by providing timely and accurate reporting and analyses key to management decisions. The Financial Analyst position has the following responsibilities in their role:
- Hyperion product experience a plus, particularly HFM and PBCS. Experience includes ability to run adhocs in Smartview, familiar with data input, and running rules. Strong Excel skills – VLOOKUP function and Pivot Tables required.
- Creates financial data analyses to support and/or input in parent company consolidation system (HFM). This includes, but not limited to, monthly reporting package, various quarterly reports, semi-annual financial reporting packages, and subsequent year budget package.
- Managing data loads from ERP to PBCS and PBCS to parent company UK HFM system during HY and YE.
- Prepares data for various industry surveys.
- Perform various month end close reconciliations.
- Creates Ad Hoc reporting for management and other corporate departments.
- Familiar working in an ERP system and booking month-end journal entries as needed. JD Edwards experience a plus.
- Manage processes efficiently with others to meet deadlines.
- Supports interim and year-end external audits.
- Assist Tax with yearly requests.

Working Conditions
- The majority of work is completed in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing and walking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 1 to 3 years of financial analysis or audit (external and/or internal) experience. Experience in the Construction industry and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic with a “Will Do” attitude to meet tight deadlines particularly around month-end close.
- Strong analytical skills demonstrating the ability to identify unique or unusual trends and drive issues through to resolution.
- Strong communication skills including ability to clearly and concisely obtain and relay information both verbally and in writing timely.
- Self-motivating, high energy, confident personality that can interact with all levels including senior management.
- Demonstrates proficiency using personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, accounting applications and Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
