Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Oversee the preparation, review and accuracy of month end reporting in accordance with governing financial principles
- General Ledger Management
- Assist in reviewing income, expense, asset and liabilities trends, and working with departments on developing the credit union's annual budget
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits
- Design, implement and monitor internal control procedures following the credit union's policies.
- Work with CFO, Controller, and multiple departments on projects related to accounting
- Recommend new or innovative ideas to improve overall work environment
- Present a neat and professional personal appearance, in accordance with credit union professional image standards
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion while remaining compliant with well-defined limit and guidelines
- Professional and efficient communications with all departments promoting synergy.
- Exhibit a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism always
- Exude a positive and professional attitude with members and partners
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
- CPA certification preferred
- 3+ years of banking and management or supervisory experience.
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
